Bahá'u'lláh in his will and Testament appointed his eldest son, 'Abdu'l-Bahá (servant of god) as the leader of the Bahá'í community and the sole authorised interpreter of his teachings. He accompanied his father throughout his exile from the age of nine (1853). During his ministry, the Bahá'í Faith spread to United States, Canada, Britain and Europe.
