Though the saying says not to walk on the traveled path, it does not mean to reinvent the knowledge wheel. Graham Bell by the virtue of his words meant to ensure that you be a leader rather than a me too person.

I agree with you partly. Bell certainly intended that every one should be a leader. But the meaning is more deep. Moreover, on spiritual path there is no re-ivnetion; there is only discovery. Every one has to find his own path.

While in case of materialist world, in which the knowledge also falls, invention or reinventions exists. Knowledge is different that wisdom.

In today's world, we have converted religion into knowledge only. Thats why people are following the same path, which leads them no where. Christ, Mahavira, Buddha, Mohammad, never followed anyone. They walked there own path and thats why they reached to eternity.

Bell as I understand had made the statement in materialistic manner rather than spiritual. I do understand that there is a spiritual bent to it and from that perspective I totally agree with you.

However I differ that Knowledge and Wisdom are separate....with knowledge comes wisdom and knowledge follows experience....one may be literate or illiterate that is a different ball game but one certainly has to convert once experience to once knowledge and apply to have own wisdom.....the idea is Think Originally and not like someone wants you to Think....Religion the way you depicted is being treated as knowledge to which I would say NO for that is being treated as Blind Faith, without standing and reasoning out the meaning that is being preached.....it is not creating any experience for you, it is just being imposed on you.....

I still think knowledge and wisdom are different. I will come back on this after office hours.
